Marlee had fallen asleep on the way to Lollie's house. Marlee's mama was talking to her and hadn't realized that she was sound asleep. She was telling her how much fun she was going to have at Lollie's today. Lollie had some gardening plans for her. Soon they were there. When Marlee woke up she was put to work!
Quick like a fox Lollie got out the trash bucket and set Marlee to work hauling limbs. Marlee is a good worker. Oh my goodness, she got a whole big bucket full of limbs. Good job, Marlee!
Oh, Marlee found something in the rocks. I wonder what it could be. When Marlee stooped over to look she saw something that was oh so "little itty bitty." It was red with black dots on it's back. "Oh, Lollie, look! It's crawling on my hand!
Marlee shook her hand and the lady bug flew away. "Where did it go? I can't see it anymore."
Marlee's Lollie laughed and said, "Okay, hop on the lawnmower and you help me and we will see if we can catch it! Marlee giggled because she knew it was a funny joke.
The first thing they had to do was load up all of the potting soil for the rock gardens. The flowers are going to be so pretty in the spring.
Knowing Marlee like we do she happened to think about something that the Grandmas were talking about. They were trying to explain wishes to her. She had asked them about wishes and what they meant. She thought she had heard them say that if a lady bug crawled on your hand that you could make a wish.
The first thing that you had to do was close your eyes tight, cover them with your hands and wish for something really hard with all your might!
There she did it!
I wonder if Marlee's wish will come true..
