Marlee Goes For A Walk

Grandma B called Grandma Lu one day and said, "Guess what, my granddaughter is going to visit today!"
Grandma Lu laughed and said, "That's wonderful. You have a good time with Marlee today. What are you two going to do?"
Grandma B thought and thought. "What should we do today?" She just couldn't decide. Marlee liked to do all kinds of things.
Marlee liked to cook. Marlee liked to clean. Marlee liked to help her with the chores.
"I know, said Grandma B to herself, maybe Marlee would like to go see the neighbor's horses."
Marlee ran into the house and said, "Hi Grandma B, I'm here to visit you!"

The first thing that happened was Marlee gave Grandma B a great big hug. Marlee gave Grandma B a great big hug right back. Oh Marlee loved Grandma B.
"What would you like to do today?" Grandma B asked Marlee. Marlee ran to the door as quickly as she could.
Grandma B laughed and said, "Okay we will go outside for a walk today."

Guess what they saw on their walk?
They saw trees and grass.
Oh, oh, look!
They saw great big horses!
They saw two horses. One, (1) two (2)! Oh, boy. Let's go to the fence and see the big horses.
Grandma B has little horses. These two horses were really big.
Maybe someday Marlee's daddy will let her sit on one of these big horses. And he did just that!

Company Coming to Grandma B's House

Marlee was so excited. Grandma B was having company come to her house. That meant that work had to be done.
Grandma B dug out her pots and pans and started making cinnamon rolls for her company.
She had said something like,  "I don't know if I can get my house cleaned and the baking all done before they all got here."
Marlee knew where the vacuum was and the duster. She went to work to help Grandma B.
The first thing Marlee did was dust the window sill. She heard Grandma B walk into the room. Marlee waved "Hi" to her and gave her a great big smile.
Grandma B said, "Good girl, Marlee, for helping me this morning. You are so big!"
Marlee smiled real big and kept right on dusting. Dusting for Grandma B is fun.
Marlee got out her vacuum and started in on the floor so that everything would be nice and clean.

Marlee was getting hungry. Look and see what Grandma B made for company.

Do you think that Grandma B gave Marlee a cinnamon roll?
Having company is so much fun. Marlee got to play with her cousin.

One day Grandma Lu decided to go for a walk. She lived in the country, but there were houses close by.

Grandma Lu saw black rocks and gray rocks. She saw pink rocks and brown rocks.
Grandma Lu started to yell! Grandma Lu had a rock in her shoe!
"Oh no, said Grandma Lu, now I will have to take my shoe off."
Grandma Lu took her shoe off and there it was, a little rock that was black, right there in her shoe.
Grandma Lu shook her shoe and out came the rock. Then she had to put her shoe back on.
Grandma Lu was getting tired. She was getting too old for running and walking and having rocks in her shoes.
Grandma Lu smiled because she thought about Grandma B's little granddaughter, Marlee. Marlee liked rocks.

Marlee found some rocks one day.

One day Grandma Lu went to the farm when Marlee wasn't there. Grandma Bonnie told Grandma Lu that she would like to be called Grandma B because Marlee had trouble saying Grandma Bonnie. Grandma Lu agreed that Grandma B was much easier to say.

Grandma B showed Grandma Lu her book of Marlee's baby pictures. "Oh what a
pretty baby!" said Grandma Lu.

Grandma B said, "I love taking Marlee's pictures. If you have all day I'll show them to you. The grandmas laughed and talked about their grandchildren. They were happy grandmas.

One day on August 21, 2016 a beautiful baby girl was born. Her name was Marlee Ada Weaver. Oh she had a beautiful mama and a daddy that adored her. She had grandmas and uncles and lots of aunts and cousins and a small town that adored her. How lucky she was.

Marlee's daddy's name was Austin, but lots of folks called him Auggie. Her mama's name was Niki.

Her daddy said that she was just perfect! He just couldn't believe his luck. He now had two beautiful girls in his life; his beautiful wife and his brand new baby girl.

She smiled and smiled. Her Grandma B said that she almost glowed she was such a happy baby.

She loved to eat and play with her toys.
