Marlee Sees A Real Alpaca In The Field

Marlee was a bit pokey getting ready to go on vacation. She wanted to go to Hollywood, but her parents had said they were going to Oklahoma to visit friends. But instead of helping to pack her little bags they found her putting on her makeup. Marlee's parents hurried her up and they soon were on their way. Some friends lived close by Marlee's hometown on a farm. They raised alpacas and goats and some cows; even some chickens. Marlee had never seen an alpaca close up, but she had heard Grandma Lu talk about them.

Grandma Lu had shown Marlee some pictures of them on her phone. Marlee grinned to herself thinking about them. Grandma Lu had told her that they were fuzzy and sometimes they spit. "Boy, I would get into trouble if I spit like that," she thought.
As they were about to go on the highway, Marlee said, "Oh look, there is an alpaca. There are some goats too. Can we stop there on the way back from vacation? I want to see the fuzzy alpacas. Grandma Lu said that they are nice people. Do you think that they like little kids? Can we stop please? I promise I will be good."
Marlee's parents grinned and said that would stop on their way back from Oklahoma.

Marlee was getting tired of driving and being still. Oklahoma was a long ways away from her little town. She needed to stretch her legs and get a drink of water.

Marlee's parents started looking for a nice place to stop. Marlee said, "Oh look! There is a pumpkin patch. Can we stop please? I see some little kids there."

Marlee's parents thought it was a great idea so they pulled into a wonderful farm. It even had sunflowers!

The lady was so nice she took their picture and they took hers with her daughter and her friend's little boy.

There was even a little boy picking his very own pumpkin. How fun.

They saw a lot of children picking out their pumpkins. Marlee and Whittlee Jo didn't get any because they had some at home already. Soon it was time to get back in the car. They were going to visit a ranch that was still a long ways away.

  1. Marlee is a very observant child. I love fall. It's my favorite time of the year. Love the pumpkin patch photos that are being sent.

  2. Marlee loves to go but a cpl hr. car ride is long enough. Can you blame her?
