Marlee Has A Birthday Party

Grandma B had help from her friend, Sandy, and Marlee's mama getting food and decorations for Marlee's birthday party, but she was tired today. She decided to have a cup of coffee and talk to Grandma Lu on her cell phone. She told her that things had been a bit strange at her house lately.

"Grandma Lu, do you remember when we came over to your house yesterday for coffee and Marlee yelled 'Oh no, oh no!'. What was that all about do you think.?The only thing I could see different at your house is that your china cupboard door was open. I don't know why she seemed upset except she was really tired. When I took her home it had started to rain so she got a little damp, but I dried her off and put her down for a nap. She was fine. But somehow your doll's booties got over here. Marlee must have taken them off when she was looking at your doll, I will bring them back on the way to the party this afternoon."
Grandma Lu chuckled and said, "I have no idea what you are talking about B, I gave Carole Anne's doll to a  museum years ago. I wanted it to be safe. Because it was so old  they wanted to display her on a shelf so other people could enjoy looking at her. I don't have her anymore." Grandma B felt a shiver go down her back....

The party was wonderful. B and her friends and family had decorated a church hall especially for a two year old. It was a barn yard theme. Even the snacks and cupcakes looked fun. There were hay bales (Rice Krispie bars) and carrots and ears of corn. (cheese puffs and Rice Krispies) and presents! There were all kinds of things to eat for their dinner, salads, and ribs, and sandwiches and guess what, hot dogs! Remember Stashia smelled hotdogs? That's strange isn't it?
After the party was over there was a lot of food left over so everybody got to take some home with them. Wasn't that nice? Then, of course, the hall had to be cleaned up  so that the next people that wanted to use it could have a nice clean place for a party like Marlee's family did.
It was time for Grandma B to go home. She hadn't slept much the night before. She had been too excited about Marlee's party. Sometimes grown ups are like that. (Big grin) So when B got home her recliner looked pretty good to her for a nice long nap. That was strange; she hadn't been sleepy on the way home. In fact just the opposite. She had still been singing and grinning about Marlee and her special party; not sleepy at all. Then when she got home she was sleepy? "Oh well, I might as well sit for awhile I guess. I have lots of things to put away from the party. I'll do that in a minute."
When B woke up about an hour later this is what she saw. But...it couldn't be. Baby Carole Anne was in a museum. Grandma Lu said....
