All of a sudden it had gotten so cold! And you know what? It started snowing outside. Well the snow didn't stop the shoppers from coming to Marleewood. The Daycare wasn't done yet. Cooper and Sawyer and some grownups were still putting things together. They were all busy as little bees.
Do you remember that Marleewood is in a small town? Well, small towns are noted for helping each other. The help started coming in! There were donated toys (donations mean that people give things without expecting to be paid for them). There were kids playing outside of Marleewood because they liked to play in the snow, but inside was a different story.
When you are cold you need warmed up, don't you? What are some of the things that you do to warm yourself up when you are cold? Well, blankets, warm and dry clothes, and something warm to eat and drink. Can you think of other things?
There weren't enough people to help out. The children were coming inside so cold. There was a Grandma who arrived just in the nick of time to help Grandma B and Nanny. It was Grandma Honey. She is Westin's and Addison's grandmother. She went right to one of the kitchens and started making pancakes. Not just any pancakes. She made them look like Micky Mouse with chocolate chips for eyes, nose and mouth! Yummy!

Snow is fun to play in, but it also makes a lot of work for grownups. The snow has to be shoveled off the sidewalks and decks and porches so people down't fall. Something else snow does; it tracks in the house. Yup, you can wipe your boots on the rug, but if you don't take them off the snow gets on the floor and makes puddles of water. That water is cold too! So always remember to take off your boots, and your mittens and and your stocking hats put them where you are supposed to so snow doesn't melt all over the floor. Then you will get happy smiles from the grandmas and the mamas. (Big grin)

Jordan is making a snow angel. Have you ever made one? You get all dressed up warm with hat, coat, mittens, and boots then you find nice thick snow and carefully lay down in it. Then you stretch your arms out wide, and your legs out wide and very carefully spread them back and forth like a bird. Can you see where Jordan did that? It looks like Angel Wings doesn't it. It is fun. If you live where there isn't any snow, maybe someday you will get to do this. Grandma Lu did not ever make snow angels until she had children of her own. She was a grownup and had so much fun.
Now don't forget the Daycare kids were coming inside and stomping off the snow and were hungry, wet, and cold. The grandmas were on duty and so was Marlee. She once again took charge of a little one to take care of.
But at the end of the day she chose to sit on her Papa's lap and drink some "kid coffee" and relax. She hadn't had a chance to take a nap so she was tired.
Good job, Marlee and the Grandmas. Winter is fun, but sometimes it creates lots of work too.
Marleewood definitely needs a daycare manager to help Marlee
