Today Marlee and her Lollie were making Christmas tree ornaments made out of her hand print. She painted them red and then filled the print with lots and lots of glitter. What a fun fun picture.
There were four (4) ladies visiting today. They were making Christmas tree ornaments for their families. They were making Frosty the Snowman. What a wonderful keepsake for their loved ones to see year after year.
They were having such a good time, weren't they? There were a lot of big smiles and laughter at Marleewood, that's for sure.
Orion is making a Christmas tree ornament also.
It takes markers and construction paper of different colors. He needs to cut different shapes too doesn't he? Don't forget the glue, Orion. Doesn't it look nice on the Christmas tree?
How many colors do you see on this page? There are lots and lots of them. Have you ever noticed that at Christmas time you see lots of bright colors? I see red and green, what other colors do you see?
Grandma B decided that she would try out making some decorations out of Marlee's feet and hands too. She made a set for the sitting room at Marleewood.
Well, those are the cutest little Frosty the Snowmen on Marlee's foot prints. How fun. Do you see her name right down the middle?
Grandma Pat donated a cute little set of snowmen for the Community Room also. They just make you smile.
Ryan is doing something that has been done throughout the ages. He is stringing popcorn onto a long piece of thread with a sewing needle. When he gets it done his mama will help him put a rope of it on the Christmas tree. His great grandmother and I am sure many many folks did that for years. Sometimes they also took dried cranberries or other dried fruit and did the same thing. With a needle and thread popcorn and dried fruit made wonderful decorations. You remember in the old old days, the folks didn't have any electricity so their Christmas trees didn't have any lights. Some folks used candles, but it was very dangerous. This white/yellow popcorn will look very nice on the green Christmas tree.
Santa decided that he and Emma should join in the fun with everyone today in the Community Room. Oh that Santa. He is such a jolly old elf!
Such a Merry Christmas at Marleewood this year!
Many small communities have Community Rooms which are used for many folks young and old for fellowship.
