Grandma Lu Gets Caught

Grandma Lu grinned to herself. "I got that jar put away without anyone seeing me. I am so good at this sneaking around stuff. That back door is always getting left open. In this case it's a good thing. I could get my jar put in the cupboard before "B" and Marlee got here. I can hear the children and some grownups out on the playground. Hopefully I can get out of here without anyone seeing me. I have things to do at home today so I had better get going."
As Grandma Lu went to sneak out the door she accidentally hit her head against a cupboard door that had been left open. She let out a terrible loud yell and you could hear Watch Cat screeching at the top of her lungs. She jumped a foot! When she got scared and jumped she accidentally hit some of the things in the cupboard. Grandma Lu was moaning and groaning. All of a sudden things started falling out of the cupboard. There was a jar of peanut butter and a jar of jelly and a bag of flour on the flour. "Oh dear, now what am I going to do? There is flour all over the floor and I was in a hurry to get out of here. Shoot a pickle. I have to get this cleaned up before "B" get's here. I can at least put the peanut butter back in the cupboard."
The screeching and loud yowling and meowing was added to by other cats that had been on the Neighborhood Watch. They had seen Peaches' picture pop up on the cell phones too. They all had headed towards Marleewood's back door.
While Grandma Lu was on her hands and knees scrubbing up her mess, in walked her old friend "B". Her face did not look a bit happy. "Grandma Lu, what in the world are you doing down there? Why are there all kinds of cats in this kitchen and why did you not turn the lights on and how did you get in the back door and what happened here?" Grandma B asked all of those questions without taking a breath.
Grandma Lu couldn't even answer her because she had started sneezing. "Achoo! Achoo!" Grandma Lu was so allergic to cats.
Peaches and Watch Cat and some other cats all ran out the back door which once again Grandma B had left open. They figured that she could handle whatever was going on in there with Grandma Lu. But Mercedes jumped up on the grandfather clock to get out of the terrible mess in the kitchen. Oh no! Here comes Mrs. Joann's granddaughter with her dog.! No no no. Dogs and scared cats and upset grandmas don't go together. Oh Grandma Lu what have you done?

Marlee didn't have a clue what was going on in the back kitchen. She had listened to Kylee and had found a dandelion that had gone to seed. She was going to make a wish just in case it worked. She had made a wish on some daffodils at "B's" house. Marlee didn't think that they worked though. They just fell apart.

Marlee just sighed and thought, "I think wishes might be a waste of time, but I don't care. It's fun to wish for things."
That's when she heard terrible screeching and loud meowing and yelling coming from the back kitchen....
Hopefully Grandma Lu will explain what she was doing in the dark all by herself in the next story.
