Marlee had finished watching her videos and was about to go to the kitchen when her Grandma B asked her if she would like to eat her Lucky Charms out on the porch since it was so nice. Of course, Marlee said that she sure would. Ranger Rex and B's kittens and Stashia were all out there too since it was such a warm spring day. Eating breakfast out on the porch was a special treat.
Watch Cat has really good hearing just like Peaches does.
She had heard and seen the Pop Up Photo of Peaches. That meant only one thing. Something was wrong nearby. The only place close was Marleewood. Marleewood was generally a pretty busy place. That made it difficult for Watch Cat to tell exactly what could be the trouble. "Sometimes that Peaches gets all excited over nothing", thought Watch Cat.
Suddenly Watch Cat heard something too. She heard a door close shut over at Marleewood. It was the back door. No one was supposed to go in the back way except delivery people or Grandma B. It was always locked. Something just wasn't right. She quickly jumped to the window to see what was going on over there. She could see children coming up the road. "Those little girls are probably wanting to play on the playground equipment they have over there. That's alright, but there needs to be grown up humans over there to make sure they are okay. Watch Cat smiled to herself because she saw more grownup humans with their little ones. She looked at that little boy
with a cap on. Nicky was new. She hadn't seen him before. Sure enough there was his mama. Nicky had just started walking and loved the grass and leaves he found at the playground.
All was well because Watch Cat could see Kanyon and his mama walking down the road. The sun had come out for a little bit which was wonderful. Kanyon loves to ride on his mama's shoulders. What fun!
Arie and her cousin, Jace, were outside playing when they heard Arie's mama's cell phone. Arie just knew something was happening at Marleewood. She was new there, but she had learned early on that the children and adults that go there to play are friends and family and that they watch out for each other. She went to the window and asked her mom if she had a message. Her mom gave her the cell phone and there it was. A picture of Peaches. There probably was trouble at Marleewood. She and Jace jumped in Arie's car and away they went to Marleewood. They wanted to help any way that they could.
Watch Cat narrowed her eyes and could see the back of Marleewood. It was Grandma Lu. "Now what is she doing over there this early in the morning I wonder." She watched for awhile, but something was strange. She hadn't turned on the lights. Marleewood was still dark inside. She went in to tell Cotton Candy, her white cat partner, that she was going over to Marleewood to make sure that everything was okay.
Watch Cat was pleased with herself because Grandma Lu had not closed the back door tight. She was able to get in and hide. She wanted to see what Grandma Lu was doing. "Oh, that Grandma Lu. She left a cupboard door open. I'm going to sit in here so I can see what she is doing. There she is. What is she putting in that other cupboard? I have to get word to Marlee.
