Peaches

It was not nice outside on this particular day. The sun wasn't shining and it was kind of dark and dreary outside. Peaches couldn't find one single spot where she could lay by the window and let the sun warm her up. Peaches belonged to Kylee, Kenlee, and Aadon.
Kenlee came up to Peaches and told her goodbye.  She said that Kylee and her were going to Marleewood to play with their friends before it started to rain. The sky was a little bit cloudy. Sometimes when the sky is cloudy it rains, doesn't it?

Kylee picked Peaches up and gave her a hug and said, "See you later, Peaches. You be a good kitty, okay?" And then she was gone.
Aadon was outside playing without her. In fact he was having such a good time on his tricycle Peaches began to feel sorry for herself. She missed her little friends.
Peaches walked around the house looking for something to do. She couldn't find any toys to play with. There wasn't even a human sitting on a couch or chair to curl up to. They were all busy too. The lady was doing laundry. Peaches noticed that she had left the dryer door open while she answered the phone. She could feel the warmth coming from the dryer. Kittens and cats can jump high really easy. She gave it a try. "Ahh, oh this feels so good. I think I will stay here in these nice warm clothes."
 I wonder if Peaches' lady could hear her purr. She loved it there all cozy in the dryer. She was so cozy that she almost missed something. Something only a kitten with very good hearing could hear. She thought she heard someone opening and closing a door close by. She knew it wasn't at her house. She immediately thought about Marleewood, but Marleewood was closed this time of day. Only the playground was open for children to play on. There were swing sets, and jungle gyms and slides. Well, Peaches had always looked after her little human friends and said to herself, "Oh oh, something is wrong at Marleewood. (She just knew it.) Marleewood is where my little humans went. I had better send out the alert to Watch Cat. She lives next door to Marleewood. She can take care of any trouble over there. If she can't help she can find somebody that will be glad to help."
She soon found her lady's cell phone and pushed the magic button for Photos. Up popped her picture. She only used that in case she heard a mystery sound. Her local cat and kitten friends knew that when they saw her picture pop up that there was a problem somewhere close by. They were all part of the Neighborhood Watch.
 A mystery sound was a sound that Peaches couldn't figure out for herself. Hopefully Watch Cat had her lady's cell phone close by and would see her photo.
Marlee was enjoying watching a video with her Grandma B's kittens and had completely lost track of time. She didn't realize that she and "B" should really be at Marleewood in case anyone wanted to come in for a snack or to visit. Hopefully that back kitchen door was locked.....
