The Special Ranch Had Big And Little Horses

It seemed like it was taking forever to get to the ranch, but after awhile Marlee fell asleep. When you take a nap it sure makes the time go by faster. Marlee started to wake up when she felt the car turn a corner. She looked out the window and said, "Oh look! There are some big horses out in the field. Are they Arabians?"

Marlee's daddy said, "No, I don't think so. It seems to me that those horses were sick and our friends offered to take them to their farm. They got them some medicine and good food and hay and lots of love. It takes lots of time, but folks donate money and hay and their time. People volunteer to clean the horses' stalls in the barn and lots of other things that they need too.

As they drove into the driveway they saw a very nice house with a turquoise door. Marlee noticed the pretty door right away.

There were horse trailers parked close by also. Marlee remembered that Mr. Wilcox had his horses in a baggage car on the train. Things were sure different nowadays. The barn was in the back of the house.
There were two children brushing a little horse. Marlee was ready to get out to see the horses! Of course, she was told to slow down because Whitlee Jo had to get out too. Soon they were met by their friends with an offer to have a cool drink and a tour of the farm. Marlee couldn't wait to see everything. Marlee loved the cream colored horse. She found out that his name was Theodore. Kane and his sister, Alyssa were grooming him.

She saw other little horses too. She told them that her Grandma B had mini horses.  She had three of them.
She got to watch the little horses eat hay from big round bales and drink from a big blue tub.

In the next story Marlee learns a lot of things about the ranch and about the people that live there. I wonder if she will forget about Hollywood?

  1. This is such an interesting ranch. This series began by one grandmother sending me a picture of her grandson. Such an interesting place, but we will hear only a fraction of what they do.
