The Party

The day for the Halloween party was finally here. Marleewood was decorated for the party and Grandma Lu was shaking her head. "What in the world am I doing in this crazy get up? I haven't dressed up for Halloween in years. This old leather jacket must weight 50 pounds. Furthermore there is Ketchup and Mustard out in the kitchen. I can't keep a straight face no matter how hard I try."

More goodies were being brought in that certainly made everyone happy. Of course Grandma Lu was grinning from ear to ear. She just did not trust those cooks out in the kitchen. (Big smile.)

Children and their parents and grandparents started to arrive. Oh Emma and her baby brother, Ethan were one of the first to arrive. How cute they looked in their Halloween outfits. Emma also brought pumpkins that she had painted to decorate the tables. Oh this was going to be a wonderful party.

Raelie had a very special gift for Grandma Lu. She brought a  pumpkin for the party. She said that Grandma Lu could decorate it any way she wanted to. She could even take it to her house and put it on her porch. Oh, Grandma Lu just loved it. Raelie was going trick or treating after the party all dressed up.

Justin, Brenna, Kaysyn, and Charlie all came through the door giggling and being so happy to be out of the cold. They were ready for a party!

Blake and Abrielle were having fun being a clown and a pirate. Bella and her brothers were dressed so scary that they scared Grandma Lu! No, she knew they were having fun pretending to be scary.
Connelly was dressed up like Wonder Woman.
Pretty soon Landon, Jordan, Joshua and their mom were all dressed up in their Halloween costumes.

Soon Grandma Lu realized that she needed to get her phone and take a video of all of the children so she would have these memories to look at whenever she wanted to.

CoraLynn's mom had done her makeup so that she looked really scary,  Miles and his mom came with his Bat Man outfit on and little Addison was there with her mama too.

Grandma  Lu was starting to get concerned because Grandma B said that she and her friend, Patty were going home to change into their costumes but they were running a little bit late.
Grandma B and  her friend had decided to walk back to Marleewood so they could see the decorations on people's porches and yards. They also saw a lot of trick or treaters too. Grandma B took a lot of pictures so that she could show Grandma Lu when they got back.

Savannah and Maddie were out in the cold trick or treating, but they didn't care. They had so much fun getting candy and seeing their friends all dressed up too. They decided that they would do this next year too. It was fun!

Charlie tugged at Grandma Lu's leather jacket and said, "Guess what, Grandma Lu I dressed up as Minnie Mouse to go to the grocery store and Elsa to go trick or treating. I have had so much fun today."
There was Cooper and Lucas. They were all dressed up as dinosaurs with their grandma and grandpa. Little Kanyon was a lumber jack and Myla and her family were having a piece of candy before the snacks came out. It was hard for poor old Grandma Lu to tell who was who their costumes were so good.











Emma said, "I changed outfits too. My baby brother and I both got to dress up tonight. I love him so much."

There was a commotion at the back kitchen door. There were several people all coming in at once. Everyone was so excited to be at Marleewood for the party. Grandma Lu didn't recognize one little girl and said, "Well, hello little one, what is your name? The little girl said, "I'm Marlee." About that time another voice said, "Huh uh, I am Marlee, Grandma Lu. You know I am. I just came from my Nanny's house and trick or treating. Don't you know me? I'm all dressed up for Halloween."

The new Marlee said, "My name is Marlee too. I'm here with my brother, Kyler. We are dressed up like Beauty and the Beast."
Oh the grandmas laughed. "Well, now we have two Marlees. Aren't we the lucky ones. We will have to have special names for you if you are both at Marleewood at the same time. You are so welcome at Marleewood. We have lots of fun here. It is a safe and happy place to come to listen to stories and have a snack. We even have a Quiet Room if you just need a few minutes to yourself. Marleewood has most anything that you might need. All you have to do is ask."











"Oh my goodness, is Ketchup and Mustard making snacks in the kitchen? I completely forgot about them. We have to have snacks at a party."
About that time out came some Mummy dogs and a great big tray of beautiful decorated cookies. Oh such fun."
Grandma Lu was having a ball going from one snack to another. She was getting everyone to help themselves to all of the goodies too.

Don't forget that the talent scout is at the Anderson Farm visiting friends. There are some pets and people still hoping for a chance at Hollywood to be a famous movie star.

Some  Marleewood friends were trick or treating on their way to the party. Everyone was having a wonderful Halloween. They saw Connelly, and Jordan, Landon, and Joshua with their Wonder Woman mom
all dressed up. They were trick or treating before they went to the party too. Oh look, there is Winter. She looks so cute in her bear costume.
They saw lots of jack-o'-lanterns on people's porches.
