The Talent Scout Just Wants To Be Famous

She had not been on vacation in a very long time. It seemed like she was always working. A talent scout's life was not an easy one, especially when the talent she was looking for was animals. She had gone to college and gotten her degree in theater and communications. So she felt like she could work with people and computers and even movies because of all the schooling that she went to.
She had even moved to California thinking that finding a job would be much easier. Well, that was just not the case. She had worked as a waitress and as an intern for a talent agency. Some of the folks that came into the cafe were always goofing around wearing costumes and funny hats. They were nice, but being a waitress did not pay the student loans or make her a famous talent scout.

It seemed like both jobs were the same. She was what they called a "gofer." Go for this, go for that, go for coffee, go get files for the boss.  When she had finally landed a job at a talent agency, it wasn't a very well known one. But she had decided that she would take anything. She knew what she wanted to be in this kind of life. She wanted to make animals famous. She thought it would be much easier than making humans famous. Years ago there were very famous dogs that were in the movies, Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, Lady and the Tramp, Old Yeller, Toto, in the Wizard of Oz and of course, that huge St. Bernard, Beethoven. An animal movie hadn't been done for years. She was going to be famous one way or another. She was bound and determined to find the perfect animal that would make her career a great one.

When she had stopped for ice cream in Oklahoma at a little cafe she had seen a pretty lady with a little dog. She had asked her if she could take their picture. She was hoping that along the way she would find even more dogs and domestic animals. She thought if she found several she could even come up with an idea for a movie that she could pitch to a famous director or movie producer; maybe even Disney Productions. She could just see her name in lights, or the animal's that is....

It seemed like she had been on the road forever. She had friends that she was going to visit that lived on a farm. She hadn't been back in years. She needed to rest and get some relaxation for a few days then she would start looking for just the perfect animals again.
She realized in her last few hours on the road that it was Halloween. She had completely forgotten that holiday. She had stopped in at a coffee shop and saw the cutest little dog. He was having a cup of whipped cream and doggie bacon. So cute. The lady said that her dog's name was Chata.

There was a park nearby and she noticed that some dog's owners had dressed them in Halloween costumes. She loved the idea of costumes on Josie, Ezra, Jake and Lucky too. She took their pictures, but they just weren't exactly what she wanted for her movie idea.

Little Marlee's dog, Sadie was all decked out too so she took her picture.

She put her camera in the back seat and continued on her way for some peace and quiet on the Anderson Farm.

  1. The word famous appears many many times in this series. We shall soon see the real meaning of famous. Credits go to Disney Productions for the movie trailer. Loved that movie.
