Grandma Lu had stayed away from Marleewood for several days. She was afraid that if she saw Marlee she would want to hear a story about an enchanted forest and she didn't have one! "This is the first time in a long long time I can't come up with a story. I think I've told that little girl too many stories. I can't think of a single one. Oh dear. I am being a chicken. I guess I had better go face the music."
She put her hat on and drove down to Marleewood. "Oh dear, just look at all of those cars. Mercy, I don't have a story to tell!"
When Grandma Lu arrived at Marleewood, she didn't go in the back door to the back kitchen like she usually did. She didn't want to see Marlee and Grandma B just yet. "Time seems to have gotten away from me, I'm afraid. Maybe I'm getting too old to remember things like I used to. I find myself opening up the refrigerator and have no clue what I'm looking for. I have lost my purse, and have lost touch with the modern world with it's new technology and computers and such. Maybe I can't tell stories anymore."
As she looked out the window she saw the lights on at the County Library. She grinned to herself. "Oh I did have such a good day the day I told the Pirate story. There were so many children and adults there that day. That was really fun. I was all dressed up like a pirate too. Hmm, you know what? I never did finish that story...
