Grandma Lu Starts To Remember The Story

Grandma Lu slowly got out of the chair in the Quiet Room. "Well, it's now or never, old girl. Let's see if you can remember the rest of the story about Marlee. Lady Kathleen, Lady Bonita, and Lexie. Lexie turned out to be a relative too, didn't she? I have to get this all sorted out in my mind. A little girl named Marlee had stowed away on a pirate ship, and turned out to be a princess. But that was not the end of that story."

"Her story has continued on down through the generations. Oh yes, now I remember. There was a writer and her husband that had wanted to write the story about the old pirate on the island that they were visiting. They had seen her picture and many of her relatives in the hotel that they were staying at."

About the time that Grandma Lu was coming out of the Quiet Room Marlee and her Grandma B were just going into the Sitting Room. They were not alone. There were children and some grownups with them. They had been doing some crafts in the Community Room and had some finished projects to show her.

They were so happy to see her. They had heard her come in the front door so they had quickly cleaned up their craft tables and hurried in to see Grandma Lu.

"Oh Grandma Lu, look at what we made? Are you proud of us?" Grandma Lu smiled really big and said, "I sure am. You make lovely things, Marlee, Arieanna, and Julian. And you too, Charlie. I love that color. You have been working really hard today, haven't you?"

Of course, the next thing she heard was, "Grandma Lu we want to hear a story about an enchanted forest. We heard that Grandma B and Marlee sent you a letter asking you to tell a story about one."
Grandma Lu went over to her favorite chair with the quilt on it. She was thinking really really fast. She had to add the enchanted forest into the pirate story.
"Well, let me see. It seems to me that once upon a time there were some elves that almost got caught teasing a little dog called Poppy. I think I heard that they jumped on a Christmas tree that was on a truck headed for Florida. The state of Florida is almost surrounded by water; ocean water. On the ocean there are really big boats called ships."

As Grandma Lu was attempting to get herself out of trouble with the children and Grandma B, some of her friends were on their way to Florida. Hopefully they will have an uneventful trip....
