While Nora and her friends were talking about the pirate festival in Tampa, Santa was in hot pursuit of one of his elves, little Peanut. Peanut was determined to get a vacation in before he went back to the North Pole. He had even been sent a message from Santa to please come back to help him and the other elves.
Peanut was a wily little elf. He quickly escaped the capture of Santa's elf sergeant at arms and jumped ship! Santa has lived on for generations, so little Peanut was so very wrong to think that Santa wasn't on to where he might be.
Not only did Santa know where Peanut was, but also knew that there was a little boy that was riding on the same pirate ship in the parade. It was a special ship called a float. The ships were on wheels instead of water. There were many many floats in several parades, however, Justin was riding on this particular float because this was the Gasparilla Children's Parade which is held one week before the main parade. Santa was not only aware that Peanut was on the ship, but was interested in how Peanut was watching Justin. Then Santa smiled. He knew exactly who Justin was and why Peanut was watching him! "Oh those were the days when I wasn't nearly as busy as I am nowadays," he chuckled. "Oh Lady Kathleen. She was a very very rich pirate. She and her crew smuggled wine and expensive things even parrots on the high seas and sold them for a lot of money."
(Later to be found out she had sold some of these things to her own cousin, Lady Bonita.)
"Then there was Lady Bonita. She was very rich and very proper. She lived in a beautiful home called the House of Taylor. She wanted nothing to do with her cousin except that they both loved the little stowaway on Lady Kathleen's ship; little Marlee. It was determined later that little Marlee was in fact Lady Bonita's granddaughter, however, Marlee loved her Cap'n or as others knew her, Lady Kathleen.
Santa scratched his beard and grinned. "It had all turned out well at long last. Lady Bonita and Lady Kathleen had decided to be friends as well as cousins. Lady Kathleen had adopted Lexie only to find out that she, as well, was royalty.
She was the daughter of a brother that neither woman had known about. That had been hundreds of years ago, but he could see the resemblance in the eyes of little Justin. He was the many times over grandson of Lady Bonita's butler. Her butler, Edward, had inherited the palace and all of her wealth when she left this world. "Oh yes, I remember one of his sons. He wanted to be a pirate too. Ho Ho Ho, oh he was a cute little guy."
"It seems to me that there was a sister or cousin, as well. As far as I know there are still descendants of that family still on the island. I wonder why Justin is here. I will have to watch and see what he and Peanut are up to."
