Willow And Bandit Add To The Excitement!

As Grandma Lu drove in the driveway the sight she saw shouldn't have surprised her, but she just shook her head. Everyone that knows her husband knows that when there is an upcoming event or an appointment he always wants to be early. "Well, old boy, it looks like this time you were right to be early. There are too many people here for the party. What on earth are we going to do?" She made her way over to him. He had brought their motorhome over and parked it and was soon
very very busy helping folks find a parking space and directing traffic.

Some of the children wanted to help. He had had an idea. Friends of his, Linda and Cynthia had offered to fix more food out in the camper if some of the children wanted to help. He said, "Sure! What are you going to fix?" They said it was a surprise so he laughed and showed her where all the dishes and pots and pans were and was on his way to help everyone get settled. A little later he walked in and discovered that there was some lasagna and reindeer logs being made. Addie was doing dishes and Bandit was waiting for a handout. He said, "This is going to be the best party ever! There is nothing better than lasagna unless it's spaghetti!" Well, little did he know what was about to happen in a split second!

Bandit took one look at the octopus hotdogs that Linda had made and grabbed it and down into his tummy it went. Grandma Lu's husband yelled and everybody jumped. Addie cried for her mama and Bandit ran outside. Linda quickly said that she would go into the back kitchen and see if it was a little less crowded there for her to cook.

But first she needed to go to the bathroom and get cleaned up. Cooking in such close quarters sometimes gets really messy. She quickly went through the back door and to her relief the back kitchen was empty. "Oh good, as soon as I get washed up I can get started on those hotdogs. I think the kids will like them. They are a fun party treat." She found the bathroom, opened the door and let out a little squeak. There was a cat. A big fluffy cat with an expression on his face that said, "I was lonely, and anyway it was fun. And if you touch me I promise that I will hiss at you to warn you not to."

Back on the mini farm Grandma B was frantically trying to find more food. Grandma Lu had called her and said more people than they had ever imagined had arrived at Marleewood. She said that her husband had some of the children and a friend of his cooking in the motorhome and she was helping the older children get the younger ones settled in the Community Room with games or toys. She assured her friend that most folks had brought snacks and drinks with them, but still Grandma B fretted. She told Marlee and her little sister, Whitlee Jo, to go ahead to Marleewood in her Barbie Camper. She would be right behind them.

Marlee had been waiting for just such an opportunity to have a good long talk with her little sister. It was time she knew about growing up and how things would soon be changing at their house.

  1. Fran always has to be early for everything and always likes to be in charge of parking and spaghetti! lol That's just the way he is. Then there are the addition to pets to the party. More fun to come. What is Marlee going to tell Whitlee Jo?
