Santa and Mrs. Claus Talk About The "Old Days"

" That was quite a Christmas Eve, wasn't it my dear? That sweet little girl gave away the only thing that she and her little sister had to eat and miraculously her ice cream stand was filled with ice cream and delicious treats. I seem to think that you and a certain guardian angel had something to do with that didn't you? Santa grinned and said, "Well, they were such sweet little girls. It didn't hurt anything and made a lot of people happy including that mean old uncle that wouldn't give Charlotte and her children a place to stay; remember?"

They were sitting in their cozy living room cuddling their grandchildren before he had to get going to deliver gifts to all the good little boys and girls on Christmas Eve.
"Oh yes, I do remember, she laughed. He was not a bit happy with you was he? In fact he was fit to be tied. He had heard that the diner in town was busy and people were lining up to get a place to sit.. He had sent one of his little mean spies to see what was going on. Well it was a mess! Charlotte thought that being a waitress was going to be easy, but she found out it was not a bit easy the hard way!"

People had started coming into the cafe. The place was filling up fast. I remember two ladies and their little children came in first. They were followed by a crowd of folks. Then the nice lady that owned the cafe had to start hiring people to work. She needed a cook, a baker, a dishwasher, and someone to seat people. But on that first day, she needed a clean up person so badly. It seemed like Charlotte couldn't help but spill things when she was in a hurry. She was close to tears.

It seemed like the last straw to Charlotte when a big table full of people came in. They all wanted something different and she had to remember who wanted what to drink, and she hurried as fast as she could, but she felt like even the nice lady was starting to get impatient with her. Charlotte could not have known that one of the ladies at the table was there to help her guardian angel out. This was a job for an experienced angel.

Mrs. Claus started to giggle and said, "Didn't Louis Lassen give her that ruby?
He was the most determined man I ever heard of. Tell me about him again, Dear."

  1. I am such a history buff that I just have to put in some history in the following stories. And waiting on tables is not easy, however, again we will hear a story later on about angels among us.....
