Grandma Lu and the Grocery Store

Today Grandma Lu went to the grocery store. She looked and she looked for something good to eat. "Oh, she said look at the pretty red apples!" Grandma Lu likes to make apple pie. She smiled to herself as she put apples in her grocery cart. Then she frowned. She saw something that she did not like at all. The sign said, "Orange Apples for sale."
"Apples are not orange, apples are Red.
The word Apple starts with the letter A. A is the first letter of the ABC's. "Even my little friend Winter knows that apple starts with the letter A.
Well, Grandma Lu was all upset, so she went to find the store manager to tell him that someone had made a mistake; Apples are never Orange.
Grandma Lu found the man and told him how upset she was that the sign said that apples are orange. The man was very nice to Grandma Lu but said," My apples are not orange Grandma Lu. My apples are red, see?
Grandma Lu squinted her eyes and said, "yes I see a red apple. but your sign said Orange apples. The man just shook his head, but looked where Grandma Lu pointed. Sure enough this is what he saw:
This is an orange Grandma Lu, not an apple. Oranges are orange.
Grandma Lu just shook her head. "Maybe I need new glasses." Then she told the man that she was sorry and he told her that she was a good customer and that he was glad she bought her groceries there every week. He gave her a hug and that made her smile.
Hugs always make things feel better don't they?
Grandma was glad that the manager wasn't upset with her. "I need new glasses. I am going to call the eye doctor as soon as I get home."
