Marlee Knows No Fear

Marlee continued her quest to find the beautiful Baby in the picture that she had taken with her for her nap. The doll was so beautiful, but Marlee did not see the lace and beauty of the old doll. She saw her Baby when she looked at the photo. That is also another lesson that Marlee will learn along her way in life. Beautiful clothes do not make people love you. They are fun, but not necessary.
The map was written to let Marlee know that she should leave that old house to find the doll. It showed Marlee that she should walk straight ahead and not turn. Marlee grinned and thought, "Boy, this is so simple. I will find her easy beans, and be home in a jiffy."
Little did Marlee know that things were seldom simple. Life seems to add its own twists and turns without a thought to little Marlee .
As Marlee followed the map she felt like she was being followed. She didn't know  who could be in her dream. She wasn't scared, in fact she felt very safe. She continued on down the road unaware that she was in fact being followed. The people that were behind her were her Great Grandfather and her Uncle Danny. They were riding horses very quietly making sure that their little Marlee did not get into any trouble that she couldn't get out of by herself. They had been watching her antics for almost two years and realized that she was a bubbly little girl that was anxious to get a head start in life regardless of the consequences at times. Poor Grandma B and her Mama and Daddy.
As Marlee continued her journey she saw a really big house at the end of the road. Again, Marlee giggled. "I knew this was going to be easy, My Baby is in that house." She started walking a little faster, eager to get her Baby.
As she got to the big house she realized that too seemed familiar. The house was really big. She climbed up the stairs and she burst out laughing. This is what Marlee found that she laughed at. She had never seen anything like it in her life! "Stashia would not approve that's for sure. She probably wouldn't even want to be friends with him. But I do. What fun we will have." She walked in the door without knocking. (Are you supposed to do that, Marlee?) This is what she saw. A dog with a hat and glasses on his face.

  3. This is June 28, 2019. This is a special series to me. It is a tribute to a late best friend of mine as well as Marlee's late great grandfather. The dog was real and a well traveled dog. He went with his family all over the world. His owner was my husband's uncle. If you keep on reading you will find out just how very smart he was.
