No Arguments But A Storm Warning

Grandma Lu was angry! Aunt Nat had hit her little car with that noisy yellow car and had not told her about it. Oh!! She was going to give her a piece of her mind. But suddenly everything came to a standstill. Grandma B's son called in the door and said, "You all need to go home quickly because there is a bad snow storm coming within an hour or two (2). Make sure you stop at the local grocery store and pick up just the essentials that you need. You need to have enough water, batteries, milk, bread and peanut butter, or lunch meat. You folks need to have things on hand to eat that you don't need a stove to cook with just in case the lights go out."
Well Grandma Lu and Grandma B knew exactly what a blizzard was like. It was a really bad snow storm and lots of wind. Sometimes the snow and ice would break the power lines and that would make the power go out. They started getting everyone their hats and coats and mittens and told the parents what was going to happen.
Before they could get out the door, Mrs. Liz called and said, "If any of you have a chance to stop by the grocery store and are headed out my way, would you stop and get some groceries for me? My husband is snowed in at work and can't get home until the roads get plowed. We didn't know that this storm was going to be so bad." Of course, they assured her that they would do just that.

When they went outside Grandma B's son (Marlee's daddy) was absolutely right. It was snowing up a storm. On top of the ice on the driveway was some snow which made it really slippery. (That is why Aunt Nat had hit Grandma Lu's car. It was so slippery she couldn't stop. She should have told Grandma Lu though, shouldn't she?)
Well, there were no arguments now. They were on a mission to help others. That's just what we do, don't we?

Myla
Just as they were all going out the door there was Myla. Her tires were spinning on the ice. The grandmas were very careful going down the steps. Grandma B's son helped Myla put her car in the underground parking. He told her that he would take her home in his truck where she would be safe. Marlee wouldn't be able to play today, but soon.
When everyone was safely in their cars, Marlee's daddy put ice melt on the steps, but suggested that Marleewood should be closed for a day or two to make sure no one had an accident....again.
Grandma Lu and several others went to the store.
The store lady was very nice and helped everyone find things that Mrs. Liz would need for her family.
Everyone picked up things that they would need at their homes too.
Hopefully everyone would make it to Mrs. Liz's house safely and back home again before the big blizzard hit Marlee's small home town.

  2. I can only imagine what was said, but probably not near as bad as we would think.
