Aunt Nat was having so much fun. More fun than she had had in a long long time. The children and parents were all so nice and eager to have her take their pictures. She loved children and she loved to take pictures. She was so pleased with her little studio.
The small community where Marleewood was located was all abuzz about the new photographer in town. The town was located several miles away from a big city. So this new opportunity was such fun for them. The first parents were of a baby girl that had just turned a year old. "This is such fun. I can even do this free because Natalie sends me money all the time. These folks think they have to buy my materials, but they don't. I have this all covered. The only thing I have to find is somewhere to stay at night."
She could hear Grandma Lu telling people that the photographer would be with them in just a few minutes. So she gave Kaysyn's parents a hug goodbye and started to set up for the next little one. It was hard not to smile. She wished she had grandchildren to spoil. Her one granddaughter was getting all grownup.
The next folks to come in asked if she had an outdoor background. She assured them that she did and showed them what she had. They chose a swing. She knew just how to take the pictures so that they look so natural. Kanyon and his parents will have a picture to look at as long as they wish.
She was just getting ready to take a picture of Addy for her first birthday photo. She did not like it all! Oh, she started to cry and cry. Well, Aunt Nat knew exactly what to do. Well she thought she did. Toys didn't seem to do the trick. "Oh, her parents told Aunt Nat, we just love this picture. We will treasure it always. So will she when she grows up and sees her sweet picture."
Marlee had her hair in curlers and had found a stash of makeup that was a little two (2) year old girls' dream.
"Oh, what fun is this? I wish Emma was here. I could do her hair and makeup at the same time. Then we would be already for Aunt Nat to take our pictures." She had practiced putting makeup on Emma's pretty little face the other day. It had turned out so well. So she yelled, "Emma, come here, I will get you all ready to have your picture taken!"
Emma heard Marlee and came running. She wanted to be pretty too!
In the meantime Aunt Nat had decided to close up shop for the day. Taking pictures of babies successfully took quite a bit of time. She needed a break.
As she started to go tell Grandma Lu, she stopped in her tracks. There was Natalie, her niece. "Oops, she doesn't look too happy. Oh, oh, I wonder if she saw..." About that time, Grandma Lu started walking towards her looking darker than a thundercloud. Grandma B was hurrying to keep up with her. She looked really worried.
So now Aunt Nat had some decisions to make. She could sneak out the back door and not tell the truth, or she could be honest and admit to what she had done. She had hit Grandma Lu's car with Natalie's Camaro and hadn't told anyone. Not only that, but she had told Grandma Lu a fib. That pretty yellow car wasn't hers, was it?
What do you think that she should do? You know what she should do, don't you?

I hope Grandma Lu isn't too hard on Aunt Nat. lol
ReplyDeleteLove the sweet kiddo pictures. Aunt Nat better tell the truth. Once you tell a lie you have to remember that lie. Always be honest :)
ReplyDeleteHonesty is the best policy. Lies can hurt you and others. The old saying it's time to face the music Aunt Nat.
ReplyDeleteOwn it! I'm sure all the good you did will help the situation
