Moss watched the sad man vanish into the thick undergrowth. Maybe that man knew her mother! She had heard the wolf, Luna, telling the stranger a story.
Moss walked over to Luna and said, "Luna, I know you told that stranger that his ancestors lived in this old cabin at one time. Do you know what happened to my mother and why she was taken out of the forest?"
Luna licked Moss's hand and put her head against Moss's leg and slowly walked towards the cabin. She curled up beside the empty chair that the stranger had been sitting in. Moss sat in the other chair and waited for the story to begin.
"Many many years ago when Wilameana was the head of the wood nymphs in this forest, your mother went against her wishes. A beautiful young woman had made a wish to marry the young man who was building this cabin. She had closed her eyes and wished with all of her might that someday he would be her husband. Well, Wilameana would not grant her wish. She was a mean wood nymph even all those many years ago. Harmony, your mother, was just about your age back then and thought that the beautiful young woman should have her wish come true. One night when the beautiful young woman was making her wish once again, your mother granted it without Wilameana's permission. With a soft spring breeze and beautiful shooting stars she made the beautiful woman's wish come true with just a nod of her head. This young bride was the granddaughter of the original folks that lived in the cabin.
The young people were married in the forest and had a beautiful wedding. They lived in this cabin for many years just as their grandparents had. They even raised some children in this little place and were very very happy. One of their grandchildren was the young man that comes to the cabin once or twice a year and plants flowers.
He always has a sad feeling when he comes here. So I thought he should know that his great grandparents were very very happy here as well as his grandparents. However I did not tell him about Wilameana and your mother or why they had to leave their beautiful
home."
"Well what happened to my mother, Luna? I really need to know. I also need some help finding two (2) little girls that are here in the forest. It's all my fault that they are lost."
All the animals and birds that lived in the forest heard Moss ask for help.
The animals all gave a sigh of relief. Moss had at last asked for help. They all knew the secret of Moss's mother being taken out of the forest and put away in a castle. Wilameana told them they could not tell or the same would happen to them. She would cast them out of their home as well.
Luna's howl for help had reached Lycan in Marlee's hometown. He in turn told his young master, Grayson. Grayson and his father and Lycan were all outside when Luna sent out the alarm howl.
He and his father will let all of the folks at Marleewood know that they needed some help rescuing the two (2) little girls in the forest. The plan was that they would all meet in the parking lot and go to the forest as a group.
There would be old folks, and young folks. There would be some people on horses, and people on four wheelers. There would be lines of people walking into the forest single file and as a group.
Marlee and her Papa would also be among those that were called to help find Kylee and Kenlee.
Once again in Marlee's hometown the saying " a friend in need is a friend indeed" held true. If someone was in trouble they would all come to help in any way they could.
