After a reasonable length of time the group started on the road that led to the forest. The first thing they saw was an old tumble down barn. They thought that the girls just might have fallen asleep in there so they searched, but found out soon that they were not in there.
Emma and her grandfather were running to catch up to the group. They wanted to help too.
Cooper and his grandfather were late so they had to hurry. They had a big truck. Hopefully they could make it to Marleewood in time to help. He and Marlee and the girls had been friends for a very long time. In fact he and Sawyer had gotten Marleewood up to snuff for all the inspections that were needed to get it open for business. There was no question that they would be there as soon as they could.
Arieanna was not staying with the group. She thought she knew just where the girls were. She was telling her mama, "Come on over here. There are trees that I can climb so I can see better."
She was cautioned not to stray away from the group, but she was determined that she would find the girls and bring them home to safety. She just knew it!The first rule of safety is what? To stay together. Grownups call that the "buddy system." We don't need anyone else to get lost. Aha, there is Arie's me'me at the tree too. Good all are safe.
Little Nick is ready to go if he could just get his mama to get ready quicker. He has the car keys. He wants to help too.
Hopefully, they will find the girls soon before Wilameana gets to them.

The lesson for today is the Buddy System. It is important for children and grownups alike to go places with others whenever possible. Rescues are much easier that way. Grandma Lu will tell a story of a rescue later on in this series.
ReplyDeleteStaying together is the best way to search even if it is a bunch of grownups .
ReplyDeleteI went on a search and rescue with the Red Cross. There was a command center, food and drinks, and lots of people even on horse back. The search lasted 3 days It was amazing being a part of the effort.
