"I'm going to go by numbers.
#1. Turn my right pointer finger slowly in a circle three (3) times.
#2. Take both of my arms and slowly lift them up and turn gently to the left.
#3. Slowly lower both of my arms towards their new tree house.
#4. Open my arms and give those two (2) little girls a hug.
#5. Welcome them to their new home.
That is only one, two, three, four, five things to do. I can do that I am sure!"
But Moss got so excited she didn't do anything slowly. A tiny little ant had decided to crawl up on her shoulder when she was playing with them. He crawled right up by her ear. Oh that tickled! Instead of lowering her arms slowly she took both hands and swiped them towards the hillside. She did a little dance making the little ant jump off. Then she sneezed really hard. Moss had gotten her nose down too close to some dirt while she was playing with the ants. All Moss heard was a really loud whooshing sound. The ground started to shake a little bit. Moss hung her head with dirty tears running down her sweet little face. "I did it again. I made another mistake. I will never get to live close to my friends by the sunflower patch. But most of all where did those two (2) little girls land?"
*************
People were starting to call Grandma Lu on her cell phone because she was late for her appointments. She was supposed to get her new glasses today. The lady at the eye glass office had been calling with no luck. (She was the lady with a red jacket on.) Her new glasses had come in. Then there was a friend that just wanted to go out for lunch with her. She was having her nails done and wanted to grab a burger when she was done.
But the most important call was from Dawna, her beauty operator. The water heater had broken. She had no hot water to wash Grandma Lu's hair with. She needed to call her and tell her that they needed to change days for her beauty shop appointment. She couldn't get her to answer either. She called Grandma Lu's friend, Grandma B. She wanted to know if she knew where Grandma Lu was and told her why. Grandma B told her that Grandma Lu had lost her black purse with the golden egg in it as well as her cell phone. No one could find it. Dawna said, "Well, did you try the location app? I know for a fact that she had that on her phone because she is a bit forgetful you know, bless her heart."Grandma B said, "Oh my goodness, I just didn't think about that. I will try that right now."
Dawna said, "Okay, will you tell her not to come in this morning? I will call her later and make a new appointment."
So Grandma B called Grandma Lu's cell phone using the "real location" app and found Grandma Lu's cell phone.
Well, now what? I wonder if she knew Kylee and Kenlee's nana and papa. Do you think she will go to their house? Time is running out on Grandma Lu's battery. She doesn't use it very often so the battery generally lasts about three (3) or four (4) days. It's been almost four (4) days already...
There are some days when it seems like you make one mistake after another. That usually happens when you try too hard not to make one. I hate to see the tears on her little face. Hopefully as the story continues we shall see a smile.
