Who Is Marlee Talking To?

Things weren't going well at Grandma Lu's house today. She was supposed to return Marlee's golden egg this morning. She couldn't even find her black bag let alone the golden egg. Plus her cell phone was missing. Her husband was not a bit happy with her. He said she lost things way too often and he was the one that was always sent to look for them. He told her that after she had looked completely through her closet for the purse, he would start looking. While Grandma Lu
 was looking for her purse her husband was walking around the house just pretending not to help his wife, but in fact he was looking for the cell phone. He had bought that for her for Christmas. It was not something that you could just forget about. He just shook his head and grinned. His wife was always misplacing things, but he loved her and of course, he would help her once again. He even looked in the refrigerator thinking she may have put it in the egg drawer. He looked in her desk drawers. He even looked inside the crockpot. He looked in the pantry. He had no luck!
He finally sat down and waited to see what his wife had to say. All of a sudden he jumped up and went outside. He just knew she probably had left her purse in the car. He opened up all the doors and even the trunk; no luck.
Soon after he had sat down in his easy chair the land line phone rang. He answered it and it was Grandma B. She asked him if Grandma Lu was on her way to Marleewood. He told her no that she was still looking for her black bag. It had the golden egg in it and probably her cell phone. Now Grandma B was really worried. She was afraid that Marlee would be so sad. Marlee trusted Grandma Lu to keep her promise. She could remember how Marlee had smiled when she had found that golden egg the Easter Sunday out at the mini farm egg hunt.
She looked out the window and there was Marlee playing on her new riding toy they had brought with them. "Well that's good. Maybe Grandma Lu will be here soon. Then everything will be okay." But soon she was frowning. Marlee was talking on a cell phone. "Where did she get that, I wonder? I have mine I'm sure. Who in the world is she talking to? Good grief, I had better get out there and see what in the world is going on out there. For all I know she is ordering something from Amazon on someone's phone."
In the meantime Miss Kylee and her sister, Kenlee had taken out that golden egg from the black bag in the dress up closet at their nana and papa's house. Oh they giggled and giggled. They had heard about Marlee's wishes on fluffy dandelions and lady bugs. They had even heard about making a wish on a golden egg.
 They were all huddled up in the dress up closet and decided after some talking that they would make a wish to live in a tree house. Their nana had told them about some books about the Boxcar Children she had read when she was a little girl.They didn't want to live in a Boxcar and solve mysteries, but they both thought that living in a tree house would be so much fun. They each closed their eyes tight. Kylee held the egg in one hand and Kenlee held that old cell phone in the other. They held each other's free hands and made their wish....
