What Grandma Lu didn't know was that Marleewood was open and having wonderful things going on even though B and she were gone.
Katelynn and Addie were planting strawberries in big pots for Grandma Lu. They knew that she loved snacks. They thought that strawberry shortcake would be something that she would love to eat while she was telling them stories.
Butch was busy cutting the grass while the girls were planting the strawberries. Thomas was inside trying out a rocking chair in the sitting room in case Grandma Lu wanted to sit there when she told a story.
There was a lot of excitement in the kitchen too. Emma was busy making a cake. She said that it would freeze well so that when Grandma B and Grandma Lu came back all they had to do was thaw it out and of course, make a pot of coffee.
Abbi was busy knitting a dishcloth for her. It was going to be a surprise 'welcome home' gift when she got back from her vacation. She hoped she liked it because it was her first try at knitting.
Miles and his family had taken a trip to Florida. He loved the warm weather. He could wear shorts and play in the water. He said, "Hey, Mom, I think there is a bottle in the water. Is it okay if I go in and get it?"
The children who go to Marleewood are so kind and love to give gifts of love to the grandmas. Welcome to all of the new children in the stories this week. What will Miles do with the bottle?
