The Treasure Hunt

The old woman watched as the dogs and humans were talking and laughing out on her road. "They seem silly to me. Who do they think they are anyway? Why should they be happy when I am old and stuck in a run down old cabin with two cats to keep me company when I should be living the life of the rich and famous on an island somewhere. My ancestors were rich pirates my mama said. She said that they owned their own island. Well, I want my share. I'm getting old. I deserve my share of that island and all of the gold they were supposed to have taken from the rich English royalty."

The old woman watched as the strangers went down the road. Soon there was another car. The woman driving was all by herself. She seemed harmless enough. "I think I will flag her down and see if she will give an old woman a ride. I wonder where she is going. I sure hope she is going south."

The woman watched and realized that the lady driving the car had stopped in front of her house. She couldn't believe her eyes. She was walking up to her old cabin. "Hmm, I wonder what she wants with me."

The old woman met her at the cabin door. The lady introduced herself as Nancy. She told the old woman that she was on a treasure hunt. She was lookiing for several things. One of them was an old gold chain, one was a picture of a pirate, and the other was a feather from a parrot.

"Why would ye be a lookin' for such as that?" The old woman asked. "For my granddaughter, of course. You do know that there is a pirate parade in Florida that is happening right now. I need to get going. Do you have these things or not? Savannah is waiting for me. I told her that I would help her so she could win the contest."

                                                                       *********

Where is the old woman going to come up with these things? Or maybe she won't. Will Nancy give the old lady a ride to Florida? Hmm...
