Moss Has Friends In The Forest

When the girls realized that they were in a forest and not in their nice warm beds they were not scared. They sat up and looked all around them. "Wow, this place is cool, isn't it, Kenlee? Look at all those trees and flowers. It is so pretty here. This is just like I imagined it would be in a forest. It even smells like I thought it would. I can smell pine needles. Kenlee giggled and said, "That's 'cause we are sitting on some. Look there are pine cones all over the place too. It smells like Christmas to me." They both looked up high into the huge pine trees. They thought they saw something move up there, but that was to be expected. There were so many birds, and squirrels. They sat still for awhile just watching. The squirrels were chattering and the birds looked down at them. They were deciding whether it was alright to trust these strange humans that had landed in their home. They were kind of noisy. They had not heard giggling before.
Moss had decided that crying and feeling sorry for herself was not going to help her find the two (2) lost little girls. She really wished her mama was here to help her. Her mama had been taken away shortly after she was born. Her mother's name was Harmony. Moss could close her eyes and still remember what a beautiful lady she was. She wore flowers in her hair and green vines on her shoulders to keep her warm. She even wore flowers on her dress. She was so beautiful and she smelled just like a wildflower.
Moss decided to go back to where she was born. Back to the stump of an old oak tree. The tree had been cut down after her mother was taken away, so a wood nymph couldn't live there anymore. Moss sat down at the bottom of the stump and wondered why such a beautiful person like her mother had been taken out of the forest. It just didn't make sense to her.
"Well enough of feeling sorry for myself. I have to be strong. I might even have to ask for help. I just don't know who to ask. I don't know who might be able to help me."
There was a friend listening to Moss talk to herself. Her name was Poppy. She was a skunk. She was very pretty. She was black and white. She had a beautiful fluffy tail. She could scare her enemies away by lifting her tail and spraying them with stinky stuff. She didn't do that very often, because once she did that she wouldn't be able to defend herself for ten (10) whole days. So she had to be careful how she used it. Moss had always been nice to her even though others in the forest wouldn't even talk to her because she smelled bad sometimes. Moss was her friend no matter what. She decided that when Moss asked her for help she would do it because she loved her.
There were wolves in the forest too. People are scared of wolves. But wolves are very scared of humans. One wolf many years ago was a pet of Moss's mother. When Harmony was taken away, the wolf left also. He felt it was his duty to protect Harmony. He stayed with her even though she could not see him.
When he left, he left his mate, Luna and some wolf pups. One of the pups ended up living with Grayson. His name is Lycan. Lycan lives in Marlee's small hometown. Lycan's mother still lives in the forest.....

  1. We are so much like Moss. Many of us won't ask for help until it is too late. It sounds like Moss has friends in the forest if she will only ask..
